Even though this series has been out for some months, it is still relevant and extremely important. As we work through our history, let us make sure we have all of the information.
Do you know the story of how your "title" came to be? Are you a Mrs.? Ms.? or Miss? Believe it or not, a notable, yet forgotten, Black Woman led the charge for you to have that choice. She may have been wiped from the history books, but she's wasn't erased from black histstory. Here is HERstory.
I have spent the past few days writing and curating to create content for Black History Month. As I was dealing with technical issues and figuring out what needed to be included, I watched the #ImpeachmentScamTrial and I realized something . . . I am pissed the fuck off!!
This year, the theme for Black History Month is “African Americans and the Vote” and, at this moment, I feel like a fraud as I am not even sure I want to vote. Yep, I said it. Out loud. So what?
Regardless of which side of the partisan table you sit, what we witnessed today was not just, nor was it justice. Not in any sense of the word and definitely not what my ancestors gave their lives for. I am pissed the fuck off!
The system is rigged. Against us. It always has been and the more we continue descending into the orange flames of hell, I am even more convinced that it matters not what I do. I mean really? Adding insult to injury is that this is the centennial anniversary of the 19th Amendment, where women finally received the right to vote. It is also the sesquicentennial anniversary of the 15th Amendment where Black men received the right to vote.
Life throws all kinds of curve balls at us. We duck and move so much that is it hard to know which way to turn. I guess that is how white people feel about discussing race. It is always hard to see a reality that is not yours. But, denying its existence means that you are, essentially, telling an entire group of people that what you see is more impartant than what they do. So let's put that proverbial boot on your neck for a moment . . .

I absolutely LOVE Kamala Harris. I see her and I see the possibility of everything. For me, my daughters, and so many other beautiful Black and brown girls seeing how they can live up to their potential, in spite of a system that refuses to see us/them . . .
I know that things are a bit crazy right now and there is a ton of shit happening, and I am not trying to stress you out even more, but . . . we need to talk . . .
